3.Installation
of ADF (Application Development
Framework)
Download ofm_appdev_generic_11.1.1.7.0_disk1_1of1.zip
from the metalink
Save it softwares/endeca_soft/appdev
Unzip the
ofm_appdev_generic_11.1.1.7.0_disk1_1of1.zip
You will get Disk1 Disk2 and readme.html document
Go to disk1
$cd Disk1
$ls
It will display all files & Folders
You will find runInstaller file
Run this file to install ADF
$./runinstaller –jreLoc $JAVA_HOME
After checking all the requirements (passed)It will
open GUI
In your system if DB is not installed it will ask
for Inventory directory and OS groupname (wich must be assigned to current
user(btec)).
Then click on ok button
It will ask to run script s a root user to set
inventory location.
Open another terminal login as root go to path and
run the script
Then click on
ok button.
Now the welcome screen will be displayed
Step1:
Click on next button
Step2:
Check the radio skip software updates
Click on next button
Step3:
Click on continue button.
Step4:
Select the oracle Middleware home path by click on
browse button(by default it will display)
Click on next button.
Step5:
Select weblogic server click on next button.
Step6:
Now the installation summary screen willdisplay.
Check all the locations and click on install button.
Step7:
Then click on finish button. That’s end’s of the ADF
installation.
4.Installation
of Endeca Server
Unzip the zip folder V42127-01.zip which is
downloaded from metalink ,you will get
endecaserver.zip ,unzip this endecaserver.zip
folder you will get endeca folder
Endeca folder contains Disk1
Go to disk1 and run runinstaller to install endeca
server software
$cd disk1
$./runinstaller –jreLoc $JAVA_HOME
If everything is perfect it will open GUI with a welcome
screen.
Step1:
Click on next button.
Step2:
Click on skip software’s updates button.
Step3:
Prerequisite check if everything is ok click on
next/ continue button
Step4:
Select the middleware home location
Then click on next button.
Step5:
We are selected development in installating weblogic
i.e. uncheck the check box Yes (do you want to deploy Endeca server in a secure
mode).
If it is a production mode check checkbox(by
default) and deploy endeca server in a secure mode.
Then click on next button.
Step6:
In this step it will show the installation summary
of endeca server
Then click on install button.
Step7:
Installation will start and reaches to 100% then
click on next button
.
Step8:
Now the installation completed and shown as
Installation complete screen.
Click on finish to exit the GUI interface.
